there are 2 ways of doing it

1 half *** way
take the valve cover off and replace the arp studs one at a time

2 correct way
take the head off. replace the head gasket and install the new arp studs

well i called ams and talked to one of the guys and told him what i wanted to accomplish and he told me those would be the best cams for me, this is my every day driver so i dont want to go over board with it. but i would still like to be in the 400whp range.

i called ams and they told me the hks mivec cams were better than the gsc s1 cams because their bigger duration and their excellent research and development with performance parts especially cams. Maybe you should switch from GSC S1's and get the Hks Mivec C272 Cams.

i dont know anything about cams. i just went with what he told me. he said the gsc s1's are better for stock'ish turbo's. and said they are designed to work with the stock valve train.

he said i will be happy with them installed and i will notice a difference

you are ok with what you got, S1's are gread there are o couple guys here in orlando making 400 WHP with those cams,,,,, i personally went with 272 cossworth 11 mm lift,, a little more agressive.

you have said that you didn't want anything to agressive because its your DD,,, kep them youll be happy GSC are great products,,,, however if you wanted to get a little more up on top you can alway get the 272's more agressive cams

I highly doubt that AMS recommended the HKS 272's, I could be wrong but I have also been discussing cam options for my daily driver and they have also advised me to go with the S1's.

Also, I have not seen many people install the HKS MIVEC 272's on their IX's, it could be because they were a tad late making it here to the States, but also no huge gains with them have been achieved over GSC's S1's or Cosworth's M2's.

MIVEC cam has bee a very hard cam to design, if you look around the company who has mastered the MIVEC cam has been Cossowrth and GSC
