ya i seen your pics and i noticed under the wing you have a little rust on the trunk. mine has that too. im glad i caught it now before it was too late. i think everyone should take there wing off and look for rust under there. i have seen alot of photos of people taking them off and there being rust under there.

I got mine apart too. Wasn't that hard, but i started from the top pushing hard until the glue let it go.
Did anyone used a paint stripper to remove paint from the sides?

I just did mine, warning if you just want to re do the clear coat, only the two pins next to the painted side have to be removed. The ones in the carbon fiber section have backs on them and will not come out! i would take those out after the painted side is off if you want to resurface them also, for rust reasons. also does anyone know how to replace those pins?

Interesting. I guess I'll use this as a guide to when I take apart my brothers VIII wing.

I was amazed how strongly the double sided tape held up. Then after re-installing without tape it vibrated all over the place on the highway.

That's mine after sanding and masking. I went a different route and sanded only the sides, leaving a thin outline around it. Those will be re-sprayed with black base and than clear coat.
