According to the videos by AutoXer, you jack the car up and then put the tiles under each tire. By doing so, doesn't the suspension get unsettled, therefore affect the alignment? What methods do you use to adjust the camber bolts and toe while keeping the suspension settled?
The tiles are only there to simulate level ground, and so you can turn the wheels. He adds the salt or grease so the changes that you make to your alignment are apparent immediately.

Always used 2 12-18" sticky tiles on each corner.. , finished sides facing each other, with a bit of grease (don't need much at all).. once the car is on a level surface, roll the car onto the tiles (rather than jacking it up and unsettling the suspension)... then it is a simple string alignment from there. Be sure your steering wheel is kept straight though.

Salt is much less messier than grease!

True.. but my evo has a sodium problem anyway..

Just did my string alignment before the autoX season started here locally... car drives great daily and was paxed 13th out of 130+ entries... and that was in a Street mod class, where I'm sitting on stock suspension (HA!!!) mine was set to zero toe front and rear... IF the front was off though, I ensured the 'off' would be toe out, not in.

Is there a recommended way to get MORE camber in the rear with coilovers?

With the rear pillowball mounts, all I know how to adjust is the stock eccentric bolt that controls BOTH toe and camber.

Hey boomn29, Are you allowed to replace the lower control arms in your TT/TA classes? That would be my first thought, and likely my plan if I find myself needing more camber.

NOT recommending these.. but this concept:

I can, but it's not a free mod. It's 4 pts which is huge! My entire exhaust is only 3pts! But I'll keep those in mine for next year perhaps when I bump to a higher class; thx.

Not sure if we can play with the 2 bolts that attach the coilover to the car like we can in the front?

I might try to find some rear camber plates. I believe a few companies offer them.

How much more camber are you looking for? Could always make your own 'offset' bushings out of delrin, effectively lengthening the control arm WITHOUT replacing it... save the 4pts...

True. I'm just wanting something close to -2. Anything more and it's unstable. I can get it close to there now, but the toe is all outta whack at that setting - like crazy out of whack toe!
