How to Determine which cams you have

i just recently purchased my evo from a dealership and apparently whoever had it before me did a little bit of motor work. i noticed she had a lopey idle and so I pulled the VC off and saw that they were not stock. they did not have the giant holes like the stock cams have in them. There is no markings or anything in plain sight.

Where would a mark such as 264/272 be on a cam?
Where would a manufacturers mark be on a cam?

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

If they are HKS then it is clearly marked on the Cam shaft. I am not sure about other manufacturers but HKS does not have the duration on the cam just the part number and you have to go to there website to see which one you have.

Are you sure? I thought mine had 272 on them somewhere. Not as big as the HKS but still on there. I could be wrong though. I put them in over a year ago.

Yeah I had checked for any HKS markings but they're another brand apparently. Some said that the manufacturer or part number maybe at the end of the shafts. If i have to remove the cam bolt cap, what is the torque for those?

I bought it in NC. I believe the owner is a fellow GI. I found a gas receipt from a gas station on Ft. Bragg under the passenger seat. There is a name but I would rather not say. So that is a clue. I got this car for a steal! The dealer had no clue what they had! I paid $20,500 for an 05' Silver Viii with 17k with the cleanest Carfax known to man!! I'll post a pic as soon as I figure it out.

Ok sorry for the delay. Apparently when I first checked both of the markings were underneath. Well I checked them again later and I saw HKS. SO now question still remains, which duration cams do I have?

yea i had same think, mine had hks, actually on end of hks more closer to the cam gear side will be the model number...if u dont see it right away turn the crank with a ratchet..i'd suggest removin crank angle (triangular sensor) top left of engine head..i'd assume its already removed since u have cover off anyway....but its like on one of the straight edges sketced in there.....just google the model and you'll know!
