simple exhaust install...dear me
so i came from an rsx which, might i say, i installed an intake mani, full exhaust, tuned it through kpro, coilovers, etc by myself. and i just picked up a gorgeous electric blue 9 on tuesday and i'm trying to install an hks carbon-ti on it (just the catback) since i wanna stay under warranty. i was breezing through everything until this...

i've never seen an exhaust mounted with studs and 1 bolt...how the hell do i get those bolts off? i bathed it in p'blaster and still no budge. i'm using a regular adjustable spanner and i cant get them to budge. all i'm supposed to do is turn the bolt to the left right?
someone help!! this is highly embarrassing

flood it with WD-40 and keep on trying with the spanner. If it still doesn´t come out loose get something to make the spanner larger like a pipe or something, and if it still doesn´t come out loose.... go to a shop and get it done
well i was really tugging on it with my overwhelming biceps, 22'' diesels, and it still wasn't budging. the whole exhaust system was moving and i was afraid of perhaps the spring bolts breaking or something like that. plus i was too lazy to jack it up
i sprayed it with more p'blaster and i'm gonna drive to work and back tomorrow and go at it again while the exhaust is still hot
so am i twisting in the right direction? lefty loosey?

1. Buy new nuts from the dealership
2. Get a MAP-gas burner
3. Get the nut cherry red
4. Grab the nut with a pair of vice grips and it will come right off without damaging the threads of the bolt/stud.
p.s. make sure you don't burn anything under there you don't intend on burning (ie: fuel or brake lines, or electric wires)
p.s.s. yes, lol. lefty loosey

The point of the torch is to heat the nut up to the point where is is malleable so it can be "squeezed" off of the bolt. It destroys the nut, but the bolt is undamaged. That's why I suggested to get new nuts from the dealer.
Hi, I'm not trying to jack this thread.. But I noticed that the O2 sensor is in the midpipe. I thought it is on top of the cat on IXs.. Can someone please clarify this for me? Thanks in advance.
