Hi NLIevo8,

Sorry to dig up this old thread. But may I know the reason for removing the clockspring? According to NRG, removal of the clockspring is not needed for installation of the NRG Short Hub.

Wat is the impact of removing the clockspring? Auto Signal Indicator function disabled?

Thanks in advance for any replies...

The allen bolt holding my steering wheel to the steering column is seized. Any ideas on how to get it out ? I don't want to keep trying and warp the head, its already skipping turns on top of the allen bolt.

it seem's unlikely that you would strip the head considering the bit will go in about a 1/4 of an inch, i used a T- wrench and my downpipe (only thing i had that resembled a breaker bar) it took a good 15- 20 min but i eventually got it. good luck- oh yeah nice write up by the way

Bringing this back up

see my thread:

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...ml#post9977226

I put in a aftermarket steering wheel just to get an idea of size/feel etc, could this have any effect on it? only things connected to this is the airbag and horn though, both of which were disconnected with the aftermarket wheel when the diff started spitting oil.

This is on a evo5

Is the steering wheel/horn/airbag linked to the AYC in any way? would this have any effect? SRS light was on did not do the fuse thing.

Sorry if it sounds noob but Ive got no idea what the problem could be

Might have found my problem

No info about the resistor in the NRG kit? I have mounted a used one, but I have no fuse-resistor in it.

How did you wire the horn, so that the horn wire does not bind inside the steering boss? I extended my horn wire to over 12 inches, and it still gets hung up and caught when turning lock to lock. I cant seem to figure out a clean way of wiring the horn without it binding on something. Im using a works bell standard hub, and momo wheel/ horn button. Any ideas??

Just installed mine using the NRG harness and the SRS light is on. So on the airbag plug there are many, probably 6-8 holes for wires to go in, but only 2 Are used by the airbag wires. Do the NRG wires need to be in the same spots as the airbag wires?
