That bolt has locktite on it from the factory - it took me a cheater pipe to get enough leverage on that bolt...even then it was tight! Just gotta put your elbow into it.

Pretty sure I stripped the 8mm bolt holding the wheel to the column.. Used PB blaster for a good 15-20 min soak before I tried to remove it too... Bought the car used and it seemed as though there was a bit of play with the 8mm Allen but I didn't think it'd strip...

Any insight on what I can do to get it off? =\

Try to find a friend/mechanic that has this: http://www.amazon.com/pc-Head-Multi-.../dp/B002Q5NB80

Or you can buy it yourself. Look up "hex screw extractor".

great write up. Just not sure I would want to risk not having an airbag for the little bit of looks it gives you. IMO

I have two questions...

1) can i just use the nrg quick release system or would i have to buy the short hub too?

2) can i still use our regular steering wheel with the quick release? I have the evo 8 and i just wanna see what it feels like..i DO plan on getting a deep dish momo mod 7 but for now i wanna Get feel for how close i will be to the steering wheel

Thanks and great thread

Just fyi, if the steering wheel airbag is set up like the seat airbags, a 2 ohm resistor will fix the SRS light.
