Serg Trip Computer Install

Here's what I received when I opened my package. It included the 2 wires for the temperature sensors, wiring harness, and the manual that you can't read because it's entirely in Russian (was expecting that), and of course the unit itself.

BIG Thanks to <a href="https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/members/84839-acamus.html">acamus</a> & <a href="https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/members/9202-logic.html">logic</a> for finding this computer and working out all the information out on it.

To do this install, you will need:
1. Philips screwdriver
2. Flat head screwdriver
3. Pair of pliers
4. Pair of dikes

I labeled all of my wires before the install to make everything a whole lot faster.

Brown wire: Accessory
Yellow wire: Illumination(+)
Black wire: Ground(-)
Red wire: Battery(+)
Blue: Vehicle Speed Sensor (Pin 86) Black/Yellow
White: Injector (Pin 1) Orange (you can use any injector wire, I chose Injector #1)
Green: Fuel level signal - wire running from fuel gauge unit Pin #1 to combination meter Pin #51

It's also pin 74 on the ECU, if that's easier to get to.

First, remove the 2 philips head screws that are holding up the trim around the gauge cluster and pull it towards you to remove (works best with steering wheel in lowest position.

Next, pull off the knobs for the heat/ac controls in the center and remove the 2 phillips head screws behind the two outside knobs. Pull this trim piece that you just unscrewed towards you and it will pop out the 4 clips holding it in and be free. I was able to do this without removing my radio, this may be different for some of you trying to do this.

Now that you have that stuff out of the way, you will need to remove the dash trim piece that goes from the gauge cluster to the passenger side. There is 2 more phillips head screws behind the last panel you just removed holding this trim piece in there, remove those and slowly work your way from the left side of this piece to the right. In this next picture it shows where the two screws were for the trim piece.

Once you have that piece off, unplug the 2 connectors for the flashers and the clock. Take your flat-head and gently pry at the clock on the sides, you will see the 2 pieces that hold it in. Pop the old clock out, and in goes the trip computer.

To connect the brown, yellow, black, and red wires (in that order) you will need to trim a tiny bit off of the spade to make it fit without ruining the OEM connector for the clock

I then fed the 3 wires for the other connections thru the hole to the right of the vents where you see the light showing in the next picture.

From there, I just used the supplied connectors in the packaging and spliced the blue, green, and white wires to their correct locations. Test everything to make sure it works before you reassemble, put everything back together and you are done.

Here's a few more pictures of the unit itself, prior to installation. Sergey was right, the white on blue looks damn good.

Click on any picture for the Flickr page for it, and larger (uncropped) versions of each picture. My apologies for the poor lighting, studio shooting is more my wife's thing, not mine.
