I'm unsure but I would think that it would have to be an evo remote. Just get u one from someone parting out their car.

I tried installing mine on my evo, but it wouldn't stay or safe. It locks/unlocks after i push the lock button. I unplug my speaker wire, and take the key out but no luck. The remote won't work. It seems like it doesn't safe the programming, but I may be doing something wrong.
Can anyone suggest anything they have tried?

You can use any 03-05 OEM Remote that's the grey two-button with Lock and Unlock that look cheap as dirt. You can buy them all day long for like $20.

This works like a charm: http://www.programyourremote.com/cla...yAd.asp?id=986

I can't get my car to get into programming mode. Used some 16/18 gauge wire to jump the 1 and 4 pin on the OBD port and hit the hazard button 6 times while key is in ignition but not turned (I tried with accessory on position as well) and the car doors don't lock/unlock to let me know its in programming mode.

This is a pretty simple process.....I also tried a paperclip (Yeah I know its a little ghetto) but same thing....car doesn't respond. Anyone who had this problem able to get past it?

I can't get the car into program mode. Is it different for Evo 9 SE's.

I'm pretty much at the point where I'm willing to pay a stealership to do it.

I had better results with grounding pin 1 than jumpering pin 1 and 4.
