how to program remote?

Hey everyone so Im currently having the same issues with my car remote not working properly. I have an 04 ralliart. So at the moment I can't even open my car because my control unlock won't work. Since it's keyless entry I can't use my key to get in. Is there anything I can do to open my car? I want to try and reprogram the control but I can't know if that will work until I open my car. Thanks in advance.

Update: looking through some post I believe it's my door actuator. I will be reading more on that post but from the looks of it, it seems complicated and time consuming.

Did you figure it out?
I can't get my car to get into programming mode. Used some 16/18 gauge wire to jump the 1 and 4 pin on the OBD port and hit the hazard button 6 times while key is in ignition but not turned (I tried with accessory on position as well) and the car doors don't lock/unlock to let me know its in programming mode.
This is a pretty simple process.....I also tried a paperclip (Yeah I know its a little ghetto) but same thing....car doesn't respond. Anyone who had this problem able to get past it?
