License plate holder with Demonwerkz

Anybody have any good pics showing details of how the license plate holder and lights mounts back on the Demonwerkz crash beam for the JDM bumper?

Yes I have searched, tons of stuff on modding the OEM US spec crash beam, but not a lot on the Demonwerkz unit.

Unfortunatly I didn't take any pictures of my install, but I can tell you that the Demonworks Crash Beam already has tapped holes in it to bolt on your license plate.

The stock metal bumper retainer (metal strip attached to your USDM bumper by rivits) can be split into three pieces (i.e. Left, Middle, Right). The middle piece is the one that has the lights and stock license plate holder. If you want to keep your lights, you'll have to cut/bend the stock license plate holder tabs because it will stick out and look fugly imo.

So what am I missing here. The license is bolted to the Demonwerkz bar directly. Do I need to make some kind of angled spacer to bring the plate out over the bumper?

For mine i just put the license plate out over the bumper and bolted it up to the demon works beam just fine. I can get you a picture of what mine looks like tomorrow, i dont have my car with me right now.

This is the same way I did mine. you have everything correct, just angle the license plate in and bolt it up.

I can take a picture of mine too if the above poster doesn't.

Please do, do you just bend the plate? As mine sits right now, it is flush against the plate holder on the Demonwerkz bar. Now if the plate holder were angled slightly out....

Turns out the tab the plate bolts to was bent in shipping. It's very mallable steel and just a little bending and the plate sat nicely outside the bumper cover.

I'm glad I saw this thread. I was about to look for a JDM rear bumper cover for my Evo 8. Thanks for the thread.

By the way ... is there a good knock off out there that anyone would recommend or the best bet is to get the OEM JDM rear bumper?

I'm also looking for a EVO complete front bumper as well. I have been contemplating whether or not I should go with an aftermarket front bumper like the C-west ... any thoughts?

The plate holder looks bent... it could have been bent during shipping. You can actually bend it by hand by pulling it slowly to the front.
