Well i got a slipping clutch. Instead of paying the shop 600 bucks to get it done im gonna do it myself. What all is involved in removing and putting it back in?

a lot of head ache, full day of cursing, and around 12 hours of labor if is your first time working on a evo clutch.

Something tells me if your too lazy to use the search button, you should probably just pay someone to do your clutch

Well of course start off draining the trans, take axles out, t case off, wiring off, mounts off, and drop it. A lot easier said than done.

in the process of doing mine, its terrible! my wedge collar and throw off bearing mechanism was broken and could release on all 4 sides. add an extra 4 hours of poking in that inspection hole.

600 is not such a bad price for a clutch replacement on an evo. The first time I had to replace mine I was quoted 1200 just in labor from the stealership and around 1k from most other places in town. I ended up paying a mechanic from one of the speed shops around town to do it for 500.

When I did my clutch, the TOB wouldn't release completely, and we ended up having to unbolt the pressure plate from the flywheel. So be prepared, and try to make sure that the TOB off completely before trying to move the trans to prevent having to do that.

Same, that and not finding a tutorial that mentioned the "pin" aka connecting axle that goes through the trans to the Tcase added a good day and a half to the removal. Take your time and be patient. Its a long affair.

It's not a one man job. That's the one thing I paid someone to do on my car so far, actually twice.
