Any advice? Seems nearly impossible to me without a lift.

Any success on this yet? Im getting ready to do this as well but if it requires taking the whole motor apart to do it screw it. That's probably the reason the previous owner handed me this mount in the box instead of it being on the car already lol.

Yeah I was able to get it done. I used two socket wrenches and basically dove head first into the car....

Also you'll need to remove the strut tower bar, battery, battery holder, and intake box assembly. The bottom bolt I got off with an end socket wrench. Getting the bolt through the hole (so to speak) required using a hydraulic jack on the motor to move it up and down until it was in position to fit. It wasn't easy.

Also a lift is of no help. Unless you plan on taking the axles off. Then it would help.

has anyone figured out why this is?

I am in the process of installing mine, and the bolt from the stock mounts is way smaller than the diameter of the TS mount collar.

I noticed this withthe front mount when I installed it a year ago, I ended up getting a bigger bolt for it and drilling out the stock mount bracket to fit it. That wont be possible with the rear one especially. Doesnt seem right to have the wiggle room that is evident right now though.

Thoughts?

I used a lift but the rear mount was cake..took like 20mins..the hardest mount to me was getting the bolts to line up on the front mount.

i am installing a set of these as right now and just noticed the hole is quite a bit larger than OEM.the car i am working on did have one of the red AMS mounts up front that also had a bigger hole.

the rear and the front motor mounts from Torque Solution holes are definitely larger and it seems there will be slop after i mount them using OEM motor mount bolts/nuts.

anyone have a solution.i am not to keen on drilling the aluminum on that front mount.

Bump^^^ I noticed this as well when I installed the Torque Solutions. I also had this problem on my Galant's front mount. I ended up getting a bigger bolt that fit tightly through the mount and then drilled out the 2 holes of the frame that the bolt goes through with the mount. (I did this on the Galant not my EVO. Kind of scared to drill on the EVO lol) P.S. Did anybody else need longer bolts to replace the 2 that hold the mount to the crossmember?

I continue to see everyone asking whey these motor mount holes are larger on aftermarket units vs stock but after much searching I'm still not seeing an answer. I tried to call Torque Solutions today but no one answered. Anyone find the reason for this?

What's the trick to getting the drivers side trans mount out? I've got it completely unbolted but there isnt enough room to pull it out...do I need to unbolt the passenger side motor mount to allow it to drop down further?

Having the same problem with the TS rear mount. Ordered before I saw this thread, FML. I'm going to go and search for some inserts that will have close to the ID of the TS mount as well as close to the OD of the stock bolt. Wish me luck.

I installed as they come and there are no issues with the larger holes. I have 70k miles on the car and the stock mounts must have been shot because the car is actually smoother everywhere. Idle is smooth, and all the slop when shifting is gone.

I found it easiest to do the rear trans, driver trans then passenger motor as others have stated. The rear trans wasn't bad once you get the misc parts out of the way. The front trans mount comes out easily once you pull the studs. Take the nuts off; put one on normally and another on top upside down and they come out without issue. Also the new driver trans mount bolts down easily when you put the rod in first then the 4 bolts.

This is good to know, thanks. Yet I was worried that the larger holes would slam around on the stock bolt. Causing the the mounts on the body to oval out after some time. This could happen or not, you'll have to keep us informed if you ever have to get back in there and check them. Thanks again mchristian!

Having said that, I went to ACE hardware and found both nylon inserts as well as steal. While they don't fit perfect and there is still some slop, it takes a bunch of the slop out. Haven't decided which type of insert I'm going with, but It will give me a little piece of mind.
