I am loooking at going to a wider 18" wheel with a 265 or275 tire. I have seen the pictures of the fender rolling machine that shops use, I don't want to buy one. Is there another method that works,an at home improvised solution? Or do I need to go to a body shop and have someone do it for me. Thanks....

 

The home improvised method involves a heat gun and baseball bat...

 

lol there are some ghetto methods...i wouldn't cheap out. If you don't have the resources to do it yourself, take it to a local reputable shop.

I found a legitimate fender roller brand new for $75 by googling it. You might even be ale to find a member on here that will let you borrow or rent one.

 

google search news paper method. The japanese have been doing it forever. If you were in socal I would have loaned you my fender roller.

 

if you cannot do it yourself, take it to the bodyshop, but its worth to take a try~

 

Soo many things wrong there!

 

I have rolled the fender with a bat on my 240sx, it came out decent but I used a propane torch to heat up the fender first.

 

I rolled the fender on my friends 240sx. He borrowed the rolling tool but in the end the bat and heat gun worked much better. good luck

 

do it right and google a shop or proper tool

 

I bought the tool I rent it out when needed....

 

Thanks for the info, I think I will take it to a good shop and see what they charge. Its a nice car and I wouldn't want to screw it up.

 

just make sure the shop will not mess up the paint and kink the fenders. It's really easy to do that if you are not careful.

 

then someone gets free cookies and paint
