Help with headlight adjusting

Hey everyone so I have a question. I did read all the threads I could find and none answer my question. I have an 05 Evo 8. The car never had oem hid. So I bought a set and has the harnesses made to work with my Evo. So I am trying to adjust my headlights. The adjuster on the back by the highbeam seems to only adjust the highbeam? How can I adjust the lowbeam?

I would imagine it's similar on the halogen lights as it is on the HID lights

this is the best info I can give you:

Help with headlight adjusting-lkicil.jpg

For HID's I found it easiest to remove that "snake" wire that connects the low and high beams and adjusts them together since it just slips and makes everything harder

then just stick a screw driver (phillips, the biggest one that will fit in the hole) into the open port right below where it says 'cut here' and adjust. make sure the lights are off when you adjust

I have the hid lights just no the headlight leveler it's unplugged. So we're it says cut here. That little 5mm hex thing below it will adjust the low beams right? I know the highbeam is adjusted by that 10mm bolt that controls the gear looking adjuster by the plug

yep! the snake thing would normally connect the low and high beam adjustment screws but it doesn't work well and made adjusting my lights feel like i was going to break something so I took it off

if you pull the headlights off you can bend that bracket out of the way or cut where it says cut here, the reinstall the headlights and then adjust them

bumping this - I've got JDM lights but I think the adjustment for the low beam, if you remove the bracket on the USDM, is the same or very similar. I'm seeing a gear lever type thing in the opening, white plastic connected to more white plastic. I've tried using a screwdriver and on my headlights, there's a knob that sticks out that I can turn to get the same effect - however, it only goes about 10 degrees (out of 360) from stop to stop - a very narrow band. Do I need to force it more or is that all it's got as far as adjustment? They are off the car at the moment.

Was also wondering if anyone knew if clockwise was raising or lowering.

Thanks!

When I adjusted mine I couldn't get them to move at first by trying the screwdriver in the adjustment housing. I then got that cable loose removed the gear in the end and found a socket that fits. Still couldn't get it to move but felt like it wanted to just stuck. I then sprayed the adjustment housing with electrical cleaner and finally got it to move using the socket at the end of the cable.

It's possible that you stripped out the gear inside or maybe rounded off where the screwdriver meets. Are you able to see the + if you look inside. Try using the cable to adjust the light maybe that might work.

Try spraying electrical cleaner or alcohol in it, mine was stuck when I tried.
