VIDEO - How to test for a bad fuel injector with just a screwdriver

Thought I'd share this screwdriver tip with you all.

I know, i've resorted to driving a honda how lame. Works the same on all fuel injected cars though.

Its a wired lav mic (XLR cable) fed into my camcorder. What the mic hears is what you should be able to hear with your ear close to the screw driver.

You can buy an automotive stethoscopes and other tools, but I figured I would show people how to do it without any other tools.

wow that's neat! Very creative. As a nursing student, wonder if my stethoscope could be used to diagnose car problems as well haha!

Good thing to know if in a pinch. Also can use a 921 marker bulb as a noid light. Just bend the prongs back and insert into connector.

Great video other than the Honda. lol

We use this trick at work to listen to valves to see if they are leaking through. I'm talking about high pressure fluids and steam though. I made a listening rod so I wouldn't have to put my head down close to hot lines or dirty crap. Just a 2" metal ball, hole drilled 1/4", jammed a long 1/4" rod in the hole, welded to the ball, and cut off the rod to about 2'. Works great.

Something to remember just because it's old school or not new tech doesn't mean it's not great.
