It should be fairly uniform all the way around, it just needs to be close to pull the clutch together.

thanks for responding and making this thread,

where did you order parts from?

is it nessecary to replace the other components? or is clutch coil suffcient? my car is very low mikeage and the parts are really clean

Usually not necessary to replace everything. My car has 129k on it and it needed the coil and clutch but I just took the spacer off the clutch.

I also have been getting parts off amazon

I had to hit one side with a hammer and then hit the other side, after you take that spring clip out

That let me get it to where I could wiggle it off.

i took the c-clip out. and i hit it repeatably and i tried wigglying it from behind.

i was able to remove it with a pulley remover tool. forgot i had one -_-

that thing is wedged on there good.like a bearing almost.

and.......... it dont fix my problem. doesn't make sense.

you're sure you're getting power to the wire going to the connector down there?

i tested it with a test light, its 100% getting power.

remove all the spacers from the clutch, see if it engages then. I really should replace my clutch but it works without any spacers in it for the rest of this summer.
This winter I'll be getting a new clutch and pulley for it.

I know this post is a decade old but THANK YOU! Had no AC for like 3 years cause I thought the compressor was done. Such a simple fix for a $30 kit
