Ah I had a feeling that's what that fluid was, thanks man.

So far I've got all the bolts holding the tranny off, I have a jack holding the tranny up at the seam and when I lower it, it gets snagged on the subframe. I'm contemplating buying one of those tranny jacks or renting an engine hoist. I'm at the end of my wits trying to get this damn thing out

 

Probably need to raise or lower the engine with another jack to clear the subframe.

 

That and a little bit of prying did it, with the help of an engine hoist lol

So I got the tranny off and I've added pics of the TOB carnage, bearings straight up popped out and some even fused together

So I've got another question I was hoping to get some help with. At this point, how do I remove the leftover bit of the old TOB off the pressure plate?

Damn I wish I read your comment earlier ...I need a new wedge collar, that wavy spring, the piece that goes over it, and a clutch alignment tool.

Yes, use that it comes with 2 wavy washers so all you need is the alignment too and a new OEM release bearing. Pull the pressure plate off and check the disc and surfaces.

unless you removed the clutch from the flywheel you shouldn't need an alignment tool.

 

Yup, I took off the pressure plate thinking that the wedge collar was broken too

 

Dude, I so feel your pain. Same thing happened to me at the track two weeks ago but I was at speed on track. Just ordered the engine support bar from Amazon today, and driving to Harbor Freight for the trans jack tomorrow. Ordered the ACT thing earlier in the week...

Good luck with the repair. And if you've got the cover off, might be time to do the clutch ''since you're in there". Also consider changing the rear main seal.

 

Sucks man, it's a ****ty thing to have to pull the trans for such a small part messing up. So much fun taking the tranny off

So, due to my ignorance I broke the (lever plate?) little ring with teeth crimped on the pressure plate. I can't seem to find that piece for sale separately, do I really need to buy a new pressure plate?




edit: damn ACT doesn't sell the retainer crown separately...gotta send in the pressure plate for a "rebuild" ....****

 

You might be better off buying a new clutch.

 

Slave cylinder... Happen to me in a previous vehicle.

 

I replaced the TOB, pressure plate, and added an ACT monoloc instead of a wedge collar then got the tranny back on fine but I think I may have another problem. The TOB won't pop in when I try manually pulling the clutch fork towards the driver side.

Is there a certain way to get the TOB to pop into the monoloc?
