Battery trunk relocation

So I want to relocate my battery to the trunk in my Evo 9. I was going to order a battery relocation kit off Summit Racing.

Link: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-g1199/overview/

If you looked at the link I posted, is there anything else I will need? Such as fuses, etc?

I tried searching here on the forum but there was really nothing to answer my questions. Thanks

I relocated my battery a couple years ago. I would avoid the cheap plastic box.

I went with this kit, http://www.summitracing.com/parts/tay-48101/overview/

I didn't use anything else besides what came in kit. Unless you want to install a shut off switch, which I did not.

Oh ok cool thanks. That Aluminum Box looks much better than the plastic box too.

Oh and would anyone recommend only using a sealed battery in the trunk?

Most battery boxs are vented with a plastic tube. That second link has a vent tube, you just drill a hole out the bottom of the trunk and vent the gas out.

Oh ok that makes this a lot easier. This method is cheaper than a small battery kit and more practical IMO.

I can make you a battery tray for around $50 shipped. But anyways, here is a link to a relocation write up.

It's on a DC5 Integra, but its very similar being that that car also uses a 12v battery.

You can buy or make the tray cheaper than that plastic box. They typically fit full sized batteries , like optima red/ yellow tops. http://www.odysseybattery.com/battspecs.html. A925 mjt great sealed battery for the trunk with good reserve capacity and cranking power. And nice hold down http://www.odysseybatteries.com/accessories/welded.htm

I will probably just get a box since they come with a ventilation tube.

sorry
don't see any reasons for battery relocation to trunk
use http://shoraipower.com/lfx14a1-bs12-p62 in your engine bay and forged about relocation
it's cheap, lightweight and simple

I have the same one.

I liked the plastic box over metal as well.

Your going to need
-6- 0 gauge copper terminals
-Thick shrink tubing, Home Depot has this about 3/4 inch inner diameter
-inline fuse holder and 200 amp fuse
-2 0 gauge oem style terminals (solder style)
- 20 feet of 0 gauge wiring
-summit racing plastic battery box, just the box that's it.
-odyssey pc925 get the basic one

I soldered the connections as well.

I used 0gauge 10feer there and back.

I used the oem transmission ground and used a secondary ground on the rear strut tower.

Hope this helps

Pm me for more info

For a cleaner look up in the engine bay area you can also use the distribution block cover and mount for an evo x. There are a few guys on here that are running that set up and it provides all the protection and a nice clean install look.
