JDM headlight reflector in USDM OEM housing HOW-TO

Hello Evolutionm, I have received many texts after I posted on a thread about installing JDM headlight reflectors in my USDM OEM headlights. The process is fairly simple and here are the steps I took:

1. Refer to this thread in order to disassemble and re-assemble headlights --> https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...-blackout.html

2. Once you have the headlight lens (clear plastic) separated from the headlight housing, you will take the USDM reflector (yellow reflector on the top) out. Be careful when doing this because it is very difficult to remove without breaking, I would suggest using a tiny flat-head screwdriver to push the tabs out and pull.

3. You basically just "set" the JDM reflector (bottom yellow piece) in the headlight housing where it goes. It will not line up perfectly, the JDM OEM headlight housing is a little different than the USDM OEM ones but it still fits in there and looks good with just a little gap that is barely noticable.

4. Place the lens of your headlight back on firmly and then place it in the oven at 225 degrees for about 10 minutes, remove your headlight from the oven and make sure to press the clear lens of the headlight firmly onto the housing so that the glue holds it together.

Your finished product will look like this,

Looks darker than real JDM headlights due to no shiny reflector in the background and also no clear reflector (JDM top clear reflector)

The total money I spent on this entire project is ~$150, I spent 135 on the reflectors (they can be found for cheaper) and the rest of the money was spent on sandpaper and VHT spray paint. If you have any questions feel free to comment here and I will answer it if I have the answer

Not bad for an alternative. Looks good despite the gaps. Haha :-)

I have also seen a few people do this mod but using tint in the lens of the headlight, it is hard to match the dark yellow color of the reflector with the tint though

I bought it from a member, it came out of depot lancer headlights, you can hit up depot and they will sell the amber lense separately for very cheap
