HELP!! Won't start Evo 4

Hey y'all I just swapped a 4g63 in my Evo 4 because my last engine had walked the crank bad... So I picked up a another engine with 75,000k, got fuel, spark, compression, an voltage. It's firing somewhat but won't run. What should I do????

most likely bad fuel if it has been sitting for longer than 12 months. fuel goes off. look for sludge in the fuel.

use evoscan to activate the injectors.. let the bad fuel flow through a bit.

how can you tell that 2 and 3 have no spark?

have you tried swapping with another evo4 owners coil packs? its just two bolts, and is easy to swap over for a few minutes.

the formula goes like this:
o2 sensor checks if you need more or less fuel.
maf sensor is stuffed. just unplug it, because the car can run without it, it will run with default values instead.
fuel pressure and injectors are likely to be fine.
coils could be dodgy. easy to swap out with some others to try it.

when you join pins 1 and 4 on your diagnostic port, what longs and short flashes do you get on the deashboard?

3 weeks later... Drifting!!!!

Thanks for your input! After 3 weeks of changing parts an trouble shooting turn out to be... The gear the CPS reads on was out 180 degrees there's a key way meaning the previous own of this engine made this error.

oh wow, sorry yeah I forgot about the cam sensor.. funny thing is I had the same problem and changed it. It wasn't my coils. I totally forgot. Mine was worse, in that the Cam sensor would only go faulty after the engine heated up.
