So I already went through some of the earlier threads but could not get any further info on my current situation. I saw on a previous thread that someone was having the same issue as I am where I can get the car started once maybe twice but then the engine wont crank anymore. Ive already replaced the starter and that wasnt the problem. The previous thread something about the "nipple" on the clutch needed to be adjusted but I have no clue what this "nipple" is being referred to. Any help pictures and input would be greatly appreciated so I can get back on the road again without having to rely on random people push starting me!

Once started it runs great, no issues. I just keep getting the clicking noise from the starter. Im gonna replace the battery with a red top optima because im thinking I dont have enough cranking amps.

 

When you say clicking noise from the starter, you mean when you're trying to start it after a few start up or tries? Measure the voltage on the battery or have it tested.

 

check TedB 's thread on the known ignition switch issue on the 8/9 It causes issues exactly like this.

 

Have you had someone tap on the starter to see if it's just a failing starter?
