HOW TO: Idle Air Control Valve Test

This is what your Idle Air Control Valve is supposed to do when you test it. (Current car is a 2003 Evolution 8 2.0L )
(Please see video)
How to test your IACV

1 Your IACV is right under your intake pipe and is attached on the lower section of your throttle body.

2 Unplug battery

3 Unplug the IACV pigtail.

4 There are three bolts or screws holding the IACV to the Throttle body. Remove these 3 bolts. The IACV should now come out. DO NOT LOSE THE O-RING.

5 Clean the IACV and plug the pigtail back in.

6 Connect battery again

7 Now have a friend turn the key as you keep an EYE on the IACV. BUT DO NOT CRANK THE CAR OVER.

8 If your IACV is bad, it will
A. Not move at all but still tick (valve is stuck)
B. Not make any ticks and move at all (fried)

If your IACV looks like this video, then it is fine.
