Need help with Crankshaft Sensing blade installation
Hi, I'm having problems finding the answer to how the crankshaft sensing blade suppose to go in on the Evo 8.
I'm new here so I have no idea how to upload a picture to show what I'm talking about. But the blade got two sides, the bumpy side which I install it facing away from the block with the timing mark on the blade not lining up with the mark on the block. The old one was put in the same way when I took it out but I may be mistaken. Because after starting up the car, there was a nonstop whining noise coming from the belt. I took the lower timing belt cover off and it seems like the belt is definitely rubbing on the blade. It left a very clear marking showing every teeth of the belt rubbing the surface of the blade. The car is running rough with no power, my first gear would feel like I'm on 3rd/4th. It will slowly go but will die when I completely stop. But that's another thread that I will be posting up. Right now I just need an answer to the blade which is my first concern before digging deeper into the problem. Bumpy side facing in or out? If it's facing in, will it rub the balance shaft belt?
