Autometer oil pressure gauge issue?

Forum,

Just intalled a new autometer oil pressure gauge. Using an 'add a fuse' to tap the gauges fuse, grounded to chasis. Turn car on and gauge sweeps and then pegs at 100 and stays. Is the sender faulty? I am runnin a 3a fuse on the tap along with thr 7.5a for the gauges.

So then the gauge started working after I re-did the wiring. I'm guessing that Evo IX idles at around 20psi when warm?

That's good pressure for stock cams!

No, the face is analog but the gauge is electric. Its graduations are psi.

Those are relatively mild cams so they will keep the pressure around stock level too.

I'm 20-25psi depending on oil. You're good.

Tapped by the filter. Also, does filter choice affect readings with any real difference?

I am pretty sure that i´ve read that different oil filters can affect the oil pressure a little, i have always been running the same ones tho, so i can´t confirm anything.

If you tap the oil filter housing for pressure reading, cold starts for me I was well past 100 psi, using 20/50w at the time.
So if you tapped the housing, you will need a gauge to read 150 psi so you don't damage your gauge

I have an electrical gauge, does that matter in the 'breaking' situation?

If it's digital and pressure exceeds the rated psi it's capable of reading, it should just go blank.
Once the car comes up to temp, the pressure will decrease, and the gauge will work correctly.
