oh yeah the gap...its about the size of a kids pinky...about a cm or little less right now. If I push the trunk down, it gets better but doesnt stay there. I mean there's more little imperfection, but those are the main ones. And what REALLY bites is the fact that I was right...last night I went to a Bday party and some jerk gouged the trunk right in the middle of the bottom close to the keyhole! When i got home, I put in clear coat and you can barely tell that its there now. Dang it, seems like this trunk has some kind of voodoo thing on it....all I need now is for someone to sit on it and it crack in half so I can throw it away. Oh yeah, and EVERYONE I know hates it...cuz they want the EVO wing back...but they dont understand that you cant put it back cuz of lack of reinforcement...someone can just walk by and take the wing without breaking a sweat.

of course I disabled the springs...it was worse with them on...and I really doubt this one is that strong, it's see through from the inside! Now what really bites is that is you leave one spring on, it lifts one side of the trunk up. without the springs, using the trunk is such a hassle now...one hand opens the trunk while the other turns the key. then you have to prop it up with something other wise it closes on your head. Or someone helps you keep it open while you load/unload stuff...geez two people to use your trunk. :P

Oh and by the way, for anyone reading this... I ordered it in 1x1 weave and it was made rather quickly then it was rushed to me cuz of shipping problems, no fault on evo-mr's. That could have been the reason it had defects. Many people have bought from them carbon hoods/trunks/items and they've had no complaints. I wouldn't say dont buy from them, just as with anything...inspect before you buy. Even great companies like Mitsubishi make lemon evos every once in a while. I'm sure that seibon, VIS, HKS, CWest, Varis, etc... have produced one or two defective items. I was just the "lucky" one that got this one. :P

See, I'm SOL, it got damaged while in my possession, but if it hadn't been, I'm sure I could've returned it and gotten a good one instead...I've read various threads were EVOMR posts to return items not to your satisfaction.

I received a bad trunk from streetconcepts too. Apparently the shaved trunks are made by seibon and I wasnt aware of it until I saw the trunk. Ok cool, so I hear seibon make good products, but this was untrue for my trunk and I guess I see why Heru doesnt tell you who makes it. Long story short, the trunk is defective, wont fit unless I got west coast customs and xzibit to customize it lol. When I called Heru about the bad trunk he told me to call seibon, and seibon told me to call streetconcepts. What wonderful runaround support. I packed it up once I heard nothing back from the 2 parties and shipped it back. I will not be buying anything made by seibon and streetconcepts after my experience.

Honestly, none of the VIS and Seibon or even mine fits perfect.
Trunk are the number #2 hardest (after fenders)
We installed VIS trunk and ....
Seibon better than VIS, litle bit heavier but still we received couple complain with their trunk.
Mine, fits better than both vendors, but again not perfect, about 95%, so if you are really picky about stuff, donot buy this trunk.

I will post more detail picture and sell it little bit lower.
