I would not say "race only" at all, but you would absolutely want to be runnig a larger turbo to really take advantage

I am very interested as I have a larger turbo (3071) Will these require new valve springs or any head work? How long have they been out in Japan and will they give better top end than the 272?

no springs or valvework is needed, assuming a modest red line. Not sure when they were released in Japan, sorry. As for up top power, yes, anytime you increase duration and/or lift, you move the power band upwards and allow for greater peak hp to be reached higher in the rev range. How it would react on your exact setup would be subjective to the tuning side of things of course, as well as cam timing

Yea, I would love to get these cams and so far they sound pretty dam sexy. However, I dont want my low end power to be shifted to all top end. If you have any info or thoughts about them please let us know. I will do some research about them and let you know. BTW how many sets in stock do you have?

Thank you

V-8's on the highway???

I've been slapping the snot out of Mustang Dealership Cobras for a while now with my 272-264 set up (gears and xede- tuned in).

This one pony had a clear jump on me and I killed him from 4th to 5th. This truck full on construction workers caught up at an exit ramp and you could tell the had never seen an Evo do it's thing cause they were laughing and shaking their heads. Even the guy in the stang smiled and pointed at the Evo.

I have since dropped down to 264-264's though (the larger intake was an experiment based on a few people's advice, that didn't work out for me.

280's are for high pulling cars with bigger than stock turbos. I would put valve springs and retainers in if you plan on running higher than stock rev limit. That is where these cams pull is high end so there pretty much for a high reving balanced motor.
