Best. Boost Controller. EvAr!

Be prepared to raid your little brother's room, because you're gonna need a Game Boy Advance SP. Then you're ready for Complete and Total Boost Control.

I'm talking about the TurboXS DTEC Boost Controller Pro. It's got more features and functions than I can even list here. But I'm gonna try anyway.
  • Controls boost up to 60 (!) psi
  • Includes 45 psi MAP sensor
  • Boost by gear
  • Boost by speed
  • Boost by throttle position
  • Scramble boost, onboard or by remote switch
  • Ability to use dual solenoids for two-port wastegates
  • Store and switch between five different boost maps
  • Easy "input target boost" mode
  • Includes TurboXS KnockLite!

This thing has more features than ANY of the other "top-shelf" boost controllers, and costs less. And yes, you can tell it "I want 23 psi," and it will deliver 23 psi. (Can your fancy HKS EVC do that?)

It comes complete with the TurboXS KnockLite, which is a whole thread to itself. Basically it's a shift-light-style device that learns the base noise of your engine, then listens for knock by discerning sound events above the normal engine noise. Oh, and it's also an actual shift light, too.

You will need a Game Boy Advance SP to program the DTEC Boost Controller Pro, although once it's programmed you can unplug the Game Boy if you want.

Oh, and did I mention the unfolded Game Boy fits perfectly in the ash tray spot in your Evo?

Double the options? I'm seeing fewer features, at a similar price. That other boost controller has no scramble boost mode, no external trigger for scramble, no KnockLite, no shift light included (it's an option), no speed-dependent boost, no gear-dependent boost, no throttle-dependent boost.

And my biggest beef with that other controller has always been the display. A three-digit LED is not nearly enough information to allow you to easily program a very complicated device. Without the manual in my hand, I get lost trying to set this thing up and use it. It reminds me of the much-hated HKS Super AFR, which was in many ways superior to the A'PEXi S-AFC, but had a pathetic display that made it just impossible to set up.

The DTEC-BC has the great Game Boy display, which is 240 x 160. And an intuitive joypad for input.

Dan do you know if there is a way to hook up maybe a switch so you can change betwen low and high boost. I really dont feel like having a game boy in my car 24/7. what do you do about power for the gameboy?

Yes, you can hook up a switch for high/low boost, using the "Scramble" feature. The switch can be momentary, timed (15 seconds of high boost when the switch is pressed), or just constant for as long as the switch is on. The latter mode would work for what you are talking about.

As for power, the DTEC provides power (and even recharges the battery) for the Game Boy for as long as the Game Boy is plugged in.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but as far as I know the EVC still uses the old "turn the knob higher to get more boost" system. You cannot specify "22 psi" and have the EVC simply make 22 psi. Instead, you have to specify "48" or some other number, then adjust that number higher or lower until you get the 22 psi that you want.

is there anyway you could change over to the psp. Imagine having a unit that you can do all you have mention plus play music, movies, wifi (if you could link up to your home computer and download other maps). it could be endless what you could do. then I would consider your product more seriously.

Doesnt APEX-I give you boost per gear, and scramble for around 300 bux?? Also when you buy one of these you have to shovel out another 90 bux for the game boy???
