I don't think you will have any problems with this header. I have had one sitting on my desk for the past week and let me tell you, it was one beautiful paperweight! DC Sports has outstanding quality and to prove it they offer a 1 year warranty on any manufacturing defects.
I second that. Im running the manifold with an EM "Ebay" 02 and its fine. Just make sure you reuse your stock spring loaded downpipe bolts esp if you have a downpipe that doesnt have a flex section. Id put big money on it being FINE!

Not every car is the same, you are correct on a couple of things but people have decent mods on their cars enhancing the overall output of the header.

Turbo magazine put a DC sport on their slightly modded 03 Evo 8 and got 10.9whp and 4lb/tq, that is worth to me.

On the other note, look the dynochart closely, the curve stops at 7000 but does not mean it actually stops there, some cars like my Evo are actually tuned to 8000-8100 rpm and the 150rpm of "usable power" that you mentioned it is actually more like 2800rpm using the same dyno picture.

soon2bEvo made absolutely crazy power out of the DC sport headers, I think they are worth. I am installing mine in a couple of weeks

The heat sheild will not bolt directly with simple modifications can be made to fit almost the same as stock.

Generally on a turbocharged car it is best to place the EGT probe after the turbocharger in the downpipe. The reason for this is so that if there is any failure and the probe breaks off it does not get eaten by the turbocharger. This header does not have provisions for EGT probes but could be modofied to accept one however I don't recommend it.

Sold out!

You may have seen that I edited the first post in regards to our stock. Due to the response from this thread we quickly sold out of the headers. DC Sports has informed me that there is currently a 2 week backorder on the brushed manfiold and that the polished manifold has been discontinued.

brushed: $385.20 shipped
polished: Discontinued

Is there a reason why the polished manifold has been discontinued? Anything wrong with it for the owners who already have one?

These are pics of the headers installed on my car:

NOTE: Please pay attention to detail to the color. Picture #2 and #3 shows stock color. Pic# 1 shows the color after 5 minutes of running the engine. Right now the headers look purple(I will download another current pic)

Last but not least, make sure you give the headers a good wash, this headers came nasty on the inside, possibly from the welding. You need to clean the headers inside with some kind of brake cleaner liquid(degreaser with no residue) and a cloth. On the outside you can clean the headers with alcohol however don't expect this header to keep the beautiful color that comes stock.
