which smaller Garret BB unit would you recommend for stock block for about 500whp?
I'm planning to have a header build and what else would you need for the install? Need specific DP, gaskets, oil line...? thanks.

And, is it true BB's spool much faster if so about how fast?

shoot me an email chris@mellontuning.com and we can get into the details there regarding the pieces. The BB versions will make about the same power from what I've seen on a 35R class turbo but spool several hundered rpm sooner.

For you I would recommend the FP HTA 3582 .82 or .63 we carry on the site. The .63 is the way to go if you're wanting it to spool faster and don't plan on running more than 30psi which will give you 500awhp with our tuning.

Here is a question, my 1G is a 2.0l with 9:1 compression. Currently the car is set up for a 42R with a 1.15 A/R if I were to switch to the hta 3794R would there be a noticeable decrease in spool time?

yes, even if you kept a similar A/R, the compressor wheel is billet aluminum and smaller.

I would want to keep roughly the same A/R. If you know of anyone looking for a brand new GT42R with $200 in coatings I will trade it for one of these.

We have a few more people using the turbo and it's an excellent turbo.

You will not be improving spool time by going to the 3794 from a standard 35r...in fact you will be adding quite a bit, not hitting ~40psi on a 2.0L until around 6k rpm's.
