The UTEC has landed.

In the world of Subaru WRX tuning, the TurboXS UTEC is a smash hit, and with good reason. It's simple, effective, easy to install, and easy to use.

Now it's available for your Evo.

If you haven't heard of the UTEC, it's a plug-and-play piggyback ECU device that allows you to alter fuel, timing, and boost settings for your Lancer Evo. It is programmed using a simple terminal program (like HyperTerminal, which is included with every Windows installation). Each one comes with a starting map, so you don't have to worry about programming it to get it to run right away. There are several choices for which map ships with the device, and later on we'll have various other maps available on our web site.

Installation is very easy; access the ECU, unplug the ECU harness, plug the UTEC into the ECU, and plug the ECU harness into the UTEC. Plug in a ground wire and you're done. Easily reversible, too, with no trace of installation.

Click the link for more info, pricing, and to order. Now shipping, but initial production is limited!

What if any differences are there between the EVO/WRX UTEC revisions? Software and hardware..

Well, other than the obvious differences (wiring harness, form factor), the product is very similar. There are differences in the way the Evo and the WRX do fuel, so the hardware is different as a result. But the interface will be familar to anyone who has used the WRX UTEC.

Does it have the ability to measure wideband 02 or have a plug to use this data in it?

Yes, through the TXS tuner...

*******************************************
- Wideband Air Fuel (9.0:1 - 25.0:1)

- Visual and Audible Knock Detection

- 4 Spare Inputs (such as RPM pickup, injector duty cycle, MAF, MAP, TPS, etc)

So to add wideband capability of any kind you must get their $700 product as well or will it work with any of the cheaper brand of wideband sensors?

It also comes with a Bosch knock sensor. Which would aid greatly in tuning the car.

We'll be happy to install and tune it for you (we would use one of the several AWD dynos available to us).

Uh, I thought I did. The current software revision is the exact same as the WRX UTEC, if you are specifically asking about that.

The UTEC by itself does NOT have provision for datalogging outside inputs -- it only logs the existing ECU harness inputs. To get more inputs, you have to use the Tuner.
