Talking Borla Header Application For Evo Viii!!!

Borla Performance Industries is proud to announce the release of header part number 17220. This header has been designed for the 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution equipped with a 2.0L turbo charged 4-cylinder engine, all-wheel drive and automatic or manual transmissions. The 17220 installs using the original hardware and is compatible with both the stock exhaust system and our 140056 Cat-back™. Like all our headers, it is made from full aircraft quality T304 stainless steel and is manufactured using 1 5/8” tubing and 1/2” thick stainless steel flanges. For even more durability and better heat retention, these headers have been ceramic coated. A heat resistant sleeve is included with this header and is recommended for installation over the upper radiator hose. We also recommend the upper radiator hose be shortened 1” to create added clearance between the header tubes and the hose itself. These recommendations have been made to protect the upper radiator hose from any possible damage due to radiant heat. Also included with the header is a CAUTION label to be affixed in the engine compartment. This label is to remind the end user or installer of the possibilities of injury due to hot header surfaces. Because this vehicle has all-wheel drive, we are unable to gather any dyno figures for horsepower and torque.

Why not go to an AWD Dyno and see Borla did not do any research on the testing of this. I would be interested to see if makes any more power. Looks nice

Talking whp...

we're expecting to see 7-10 to the wheels, but the real advantage would be to allow the turbo to spool up faster...

Spool up faster? Like how fast? A header upgrade will cost a leg or an arm!!! So it better be worth the money or else you guys not going to find any buyers. Just my 02 cents.

Talking ...

info per borla
1 5/8" primary tube
2 1/2" collector
1/2 flanges

basically the header is so new that borla's R&D department won't release the dyno sheet or estimated whp gains until independent testing has been performed to verify the gains... basically it's so new borla isn't releasing any info on it... sorry it's a brand new part...

Ricardon has this in his car for a while now, it looks great, and according to him it makes the turbo spool up much faster.
