Uh, I'm not sure what you mean, but the ECU+ adjusts the signals coming in to the ECU. If the MAF is reading 1000 Hz, you can set the ECU+ to "fib" to the ECU so it sees 800 Hz (or whatever). Same for timing.

So will a AEM UEGO plug into one of the three spare input and have the ability to get datalogged as well?

Should work. From what I see on the web, it has a nice, simple 0->5 volt output, and the ECU+ has a nice, simple 0->5 volt input. The ECU+ will log the input as a voltage rather than an A/F value, however. If that's a big deal, and a bunch of other folks are using the UEGO, I could do a simple look-up table to translate the values to an A/F reading.

If you could get those readings translated to A/F and have it hook-up to the wideband O2 that MachV offers (http://store.yahoo.com/machevo/wio2sekit.html) for datalogging, I'll definitely be game.

(Just bumping this thead. I already e-mailed you, Tom)

We'll be doing just that.

Works for DSM, too

I've had a couple of questions about the ECU+ and DSM's. It DOES work on all 90-99 turbo DSM's. Installation is basically the same, and all the functions work just the same on any of the cars.

Palm snapshot

Here's a pic of me editing our Evo's settings with a Palm T2.

if someone isnt as "technically" inclined in datalogging etc.... would this be a more useful item than a UTEC?

Or can it produce the same kind of results w/o caring about some of the extra features? Is this more similar to the Emanage?

Hard to say. It's maybe a little more user-friendly, with the GUI software. But not "more useful," since it doesn't have all the tuning power of the UTEC. (UTEC has multiple maps, many more capabilities, injector scaling, launch control, and lots more...) UTEC is a step above the ECU+ in terms of features and power.

I suppose it's similar to the E-manage, in that it adjusts fuel and timing. It doesn't require any additional hardware (dedicated E-01 display, ignition harness and adapter) like the E-manage does, though.

John,

I'm adding this capability as we speak. Do you know of a web page or document that talks about the transfer curve of the AEM wideband O2? That is, what's the air/fuel ratio for a given voltage?

Thanks,
Tom

Can this tune in real time or do you need to shut down the car before modifying parameters?

It's real-time, though you probably would only want to use the real-timeness if you're tuning on a dyno.
