INSURING that all flanges are 3". With the exception of the stock flanges.

Cal, i just installed my test pipe, and i just now throw the CEL. one question, when extending the 02 wirers, does it matter which black wires are mixed up? because i didn't notice there was two blacks until it was to late.

yes it matters. try switching those black wires asap, my buddie's car had SERIOUS problems when he had this same situation with his UR pipe. his car reacted so strongly that it would die on him and not start back up. he had the car towed to the dealership on 3 separate occasions and had to pay for bs that ultimately had nothing to do with the problem. i rewired it for him and bam no more problems.

Hello BSREVOLUTION,

yes the color coded wires need to be spliced on accordingly. And reset ECU to clear the CEL after re-wire the o2 sensor wires.

Thanks

if you don't have a cel and the car is running fine then leave it alone, I was not trying to scare you but just wanted to report on what happened to my buddy's car that had a similar cat delete pipe install problem when he switched the two black wires. please to all that install this pipe or any other that require the cutting of the o2 sensor wires, cut the two black wires one at a time so as not to get them wrong or try this method https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...ad.php?t=75667

If you had the two black wires mixed up then the "SES" light would probably come on right away, correct? And if you have already cut them them finding out which wire goes to which is just going to be trial-and-error? I thought that the black wires were just ground wires so it would not have mattered, maybe not.
So people at Gruppe-S, is there a way to check the code in the EVO without plugging the system in at the dealership? Also, if the code is directly related to the testpipe itself, are you guys going to help up get rid of the "SES" some how?

Juat go to an Autozone or a parts store and have them plug it in and they can tell you what code is showing then look it up on here when you get back. They dont charge you anything and it only takes a minute.Dont take it to the dealership.

Again, Thank you for taking your time to clarify for us.

Guys,

Mitsuorder is correct. If you mixed up the two wires during initial install of this test pipe, the CEL will come on immediately. Please make sure splice black wires one at a time to ensure CEL does not come on.

Thank you

Cal

one more thing if you are splicing the wires don't cut them close to the o2 sensor, I did without even thinking, about crapped when I realized what I had done, dumb me, all is well though.

you don't have to splice the wires, it looks like you can re-route the wiring harness, check the how to forum.

i installed the test pipe, no arguement, its high quality, way superior to the hooker headers i have on my 67 camaro. it is as good as or better quality than the vishnu subaru uppipe i had on my wrx.
