Hey everyone,

Just wanted to let you know that we've finally got a whole bunch of Evo 8 tails donated to us by friends and customers.

With that said, we've finally discovered a perfect way to open them and black them out to match and supercede the look of the MR tails - ie. no ugly orange, just black, clear and red!

We are about to finish work on our first 2 sets and we will post pictures as soon as they are completed.

Prices and pictures will be posted as soon as!

Thanks again, could not wait to share the good news with fellow Evo 8 fans.

Is there any cracks or evidences of the lens being open? If you dont mind me asking, do you crack the lights open by cutting alone the edges?

Wouldn't you just bake them in the oven like the headlights?

DO NOT BAKE YOUR HEADLIGHTS or TAILS!!! That not only damages them but drips the plastic.

I am curious how the heck you can open up the tail lights without baking them in the oven.

Yep, just as I expected. Look at the edges of the lights. Why dont you guys take a good, close-up pic of the edges. You can see those cuts and cracks along the edges. That's to be is just not going to cut it. I rather spend the extra 200 or 300 and get the real deal.

My .02 cents advice. Why dont u guys try to cut away from the edges. Cut about 1 to 2 inches farther into the housing. That way the edges look like it has not been crack open. It looks alot cleaner. Add the yellow/orange lense to the signal part of the light to make it look like the JDM tail will be pimp. Also, when cutting farther inside the housing, the bottom clear layer will have to be cutted through. If you added the orange lense, that imperfection wont be seen. Give it a thought and maybe my observation will help. I have done 4 sets and none of which turn out to my liking. Good luck!!!

This is the first set - only for paint. The cutting will be mucho niceo when all is done.

cutting farther away the edge might look nicer but youll mess up the housing more and would be harder to seal.if youre really into the jdm stuff and got money definitely buy the real deal but this is just an alternative for who cant afford it.i know cause ive done this mod already and now doing it for my buddies

Ive seen many tails where they had to cut the edges, I have heard there is no way to get around the cracking and chipping unless you dont cut around the edges..

If you have a set that looks like stock around the edges Ill buy a set today!!!

Are the tails harder to open than the headlights? Man I had such a hard time with my taillights that I had to buy another pair. When you guys get this down, I'lll send my heads and tails. Any kind of multi-purchase discount if we do both at the same time?
