Painting Air Box?

Ok here is the situation. I'm getting my engine bay ready for the upcoming car show season and I want to make it pop. I have a KN drop in because I'm not making big power yet so therefore I have no need for a whole intake (because of having to deal with cel's and pulled timing and etc. basically i would need a reflash but i'm getting an ecu so there is no need yet. anyways) but unfortunately i loose the flashy part of an intake (like the hks suction). So the last ugly plastic thing that is under there is the stock air box and snorkel. I know HKS Kansai makes that air box and snorkel but thats for housing a intake filter and not a drop in so thats out. So basically I'm left to painting the stock air box I think (unless there are other ideas out there). I was thinking of painting it gloss black. And no it was going to be some ghetto civic paint job where they use a can of spray paint without sanding it smooth or glossing it. I want that look like its fiberglass. Very smooth and glossy. What do you guys think? Do you think its doable? Will the paint hold up and not crack? Any suggestions on how to do it? Thanks.

They make a carbon fiber snorkel/lid that attaches to the airbox. This would dress up the box. I have seen it somwhere, but I don't remember where. There is also one with a cut out so that you can see the filter if you run a K&N.

Can anyone shed some light on this? I'm interested in either one of those pieces. Just looking for a vendor or a pic. Thanks.

$576 bucks for a carbonfiber airbox is a waste of money IMO, that is just stupid.
