I'm not sure on the alpine, but some screens have a sweet spot for viewing, and that's usually closer to eye level. I would recommend a demo to make sure the unit is visible at a lower angle/height. Not being able to clearly see the nav screen kinda defeats the purpose of a nav screen.

right, I agree it would be better up top, but I have my guages up there and I figured the unit would still be visible enough at the bottom
