Anyone know if this works on most aluminum-alloy rims? I'm thinking of doing my Spec-V's rims in black now...

edit: Yes it works on aluminum-alloy rims.. And I like the look of that racing satin black..

I would assume with all those layers of clear that it would still just wipe off. I'm just curious as to when its time to mount new tires of the finish can stand the abuse of mounting new tires. Not that it would matter too much considering how easy it would be to touch up the wheel.

joewalker: i agree, i am curious to see that as well. it was very easy for me to paint, so it wouldn't be a heart breaker if I had to touch up...

1. The Enkei is not a sticker, it's painted on. When you wet sand the wheels to prep the surface it comes right off.

2. Mine have only been painted about a month. So far so good. They clean up really well. Mine are not clear coated, but I will most likely clear coat after winter.

3.. If you let the paint cure long enough... 1 day, you shouldn't have problems when mounting. I got hurried and put the tires back on after a couple of hours. The paint rubbed off in some places on the edges. But when I had my winter tires put on they didn't scratch at all. So if you wait for the paint to cure it stays on really well. Like others said, it's easy to touch up.

I wonder if they can take the heat if you track them. Meaning if it would peel/crack off due to the heat.

I think this is gonna be my weekend project. I just gotta find someone to break down the wheels and tires and then have them remounted and balanced. I think I'm gonna do a gloss black. it'll go with the headlights and tinted windows on my Red Evo. I think it's gonna look NICE... thanks for the pics. I couldn't decide what I wanted to do.
