Yes, I do realize that some cars do have different colored and/or shaded reverse lights. Just like the Jetta's have smoked. All I'm saying is that maybe they were too pink for the inspector that day. You have to realize that all this kind of stuff is dependent on a human...and their personal preference (to a small extent). As far as I know, they don't just stick it on a machine, measure light transmission and approve or reject it.
But, I do agree that maybe it was cause of the whole 'altezza' style fad... to fit in. Too bad the OEM's are always behind the times.

i saw these really nice taillights somewhere on this site... couldn't find it, but it was on a decked out Silver EVO. he had the stock taillights, but with the blinkers ambered out. looked really good...

those MR tails are lookin' really nice... dark with the orange strip... hmmm...
I bet they put them on over here because all the 'cool kids' were doing it, remember 2F2F was basically the advertising campaign for this car so you see the market they were going after.
I hate the stock lights on the car, except on black Evos, they look ok on black ones, but look really stupid on my yellow car.. However I'm not paying $400ish at this point to convert them and I'm not putting ghetto film on them to change them.
Maybe next time I go back to the UK I'll take my stockers with me and see if I can find someone who wants to swap.

does anyone know if its possible to obtain a black-chrome or titanium-chrome finish on the OEM Evolution VIII tails?
i would really just like a darker shade of chrome on these tails.. i dont want the all-out black from the MR nor do I want the all-red look from the Evolution VII.
