Question Swirley's in the Paint

Just curious about which colors on the Evo show swirleys and defects in the paint when the sun is shining directly on the paint. I think the only colors that dont show this are Silver for sure and White. Am I right?

My Rally Red looks shiny and clean almost everytime. Even when its really dirty. But once you get close enough, and only at a certain angle can you see the swirls... at least for me...

Usually light colors with alot of mettalic seem to not show any swirleys. Black is obviosly the worst. I had a blue wrx that was pretty swirey in the sun too. My Evo is silver and always looks good in the sun.

Just don't buy black imho... I have black and I like the color just hte Mitsu paint sucks. The orange peel affect is annoying...after I wax and wash my car it always makes me cringe. Cant get a nice clear crisp reflection.

Unless it's just my 03 Black evo...maybe newer ones have better paint jobs.

That was OT...
Anywho swirl marks on black is pretty easy to spot up close and in the sun for me...but maybe I 'm just no good at waxing :P

You guys with swirl and orange peel problems just need to go have a body shop wet sand and polish your car. Then apply Zaino or something similar. The paint is not just Mitsu. It's across the automotive board due to EPA regulations. The paint quality is a side effect. Sucks, but it is what it is.

Clay bar takes out imperfections like stuff that doesn't come off from simple washing. It doesn't smooth the clearcoat out like wet sanding.

Corrent. The Nighthawk Black Pearl paint on my 03 Accord was absolute garbage. The Mitsu Tarmac Black made it looks BAD! Even brand new my car never looked as glossy and wet as my buddy's EVO, or for any other new black car!

I have bby and no matter how much I wax and buff, I still get the spiderwebish swirl all over the car... I got it that way from the dealer. It is because it was in the showroom and I found out when they clean all the fingerprints off the showroom cars they use glass cleaner and a rag... over the whole car
