If they question it, Mitsu actually calls the paint Labrador Black. All of the evo colors are given new names to make the car more race-like....
Rally Red is actually Phoenix Red...
Tarmac Black is actually Labrador Black...
Lightning Yellow is actually Dandelion Yellow (I think)...
So on and so on.

Well, when my car was hit, and the bumper and fender was repainted, the shop matched it perfectly.
the black paint has blue gold and red flakes of pearl in it. it looks really nice on a bright sunny day. HOWEVER so far body shops have had little trouble matching it.
I have been contemplating using a different color on my car, but I chose a black car so its not necessary to do a complete color change. The stock paint is chipping badly and easily damaged on my car. Tree sap eats right through the paint.
If anyone has noticed, the tarmac evo's strut bar and some other components under the hood are actually a shade of grey.

My body shop had alittle trouble matching it, but they got the formula down now so we'll see how good it matches.
I have noticed the shade of grey no my silver03 but not to much on my black 05. I'll have to go check
