sweet man!...how is the rack attached? through the roof rails? the typical yakima rack uses those "clamps" around the door which i do NOT want to use...

also how much for the setup?...as you can tell, i'm very interested!

thanks!

It uses the little clips that are underneath the rubber gutters. It is pretty sturdy.

total could be had for $455 from http://www.carracksdirect.com . I had $100 gift certificate to a local ski shop, so I bought some of that with the gift certificate.

so basically, it connects directly to the rain gutters on the car? and there is no contact with the paint whatsoever? I was looking on the site you posted, is this what you have " 400xt Aero Foot Pack"? it seems to use the "clamps" on the inside of the doors...just trying to clarify.

thanks.

yeah the 400xt is what you use. it does NOT clamp on the door. You have to feel underneath the rain gutter on the side closest to the center of the roof. There are little metal hooks under there made specifically for roof racks. you cannot see them unless you are feeling for them underneath the rubber. That is the only metal-paint contact there is. Its not even a big deal because the part that would get scratched(if it does get scratched) is covered up by the rubber rain gutter. The kit comes with rubber pads that sit on top of the roof.

Here is a list of all the parts I used for this:
- 400XT Aero Foot Pack
- LB50 50" load bars
- 2041 Fit Kit
- 725 Flat Top 6 Ski/4 Snowboard Carrier
- 871 Fairing Medium
- 596 6 pack Locks

BTW....it is a tarmac black evo lol. road salt sucks!
