How should i paint my intercooler?

I'm looking to see if anyone has painted/coated their intercooler. Just curious to see what it would look like black. Kinda want it to be a little stealthy Is there any product like this that would also reduce heat soak?

Any suggestions are cool, thanks.

As the heat travels from the interior of the exchanger to the exterior were it is cooled by the air flowing over it, any coating applied to the exterior would inhibit the cooling process. So to answer your question in a word.....no.

anodized would work, however if i'm not mistaken, the IC has to be MADE of anodization materials

Yes I agree. As anodizing is basically a type of powder coating that is baked to exhibit the final finish...oh hell I don't know!?! Just leave the damn thing silver.

There is a product that actually maximizes cooling efficeincy and gives you the stealthy black coating to help your car become more sleeperish...the name escapes me right now but I bet someone will come back and say it...I even have pics of it on a silver evo...damn this is pissing me off; I KNOW IT!

Its kind of hard IMO to make an evo sleeperish by painting the stock IC, maybe a turbo civic, but anybody that knows what an evo is knows its turbo.

they make a spray, but I can't seem to find it, but it actually increases the thermal efficiency. You would have to contact them
It is called Stealth Coat and it is made specifically for Intercoolers

I know but what can I say....I'm still in high school and walking home one day, some dumbass juniors in front of me called a silver evo passing by (lucky *** kid, doens't have it anymore though) a Lancer O-Z Rally...yeah they were that dumb. You can make the evo more sleeperish if you change the wing, lights, etc...

theres has been some tests and i think its posted somewhere on these forums. someone used regular flat black krylon spraypaint and an air temperature sensor. there was NO drop in air temperature when the IC was painted with regular paint.

You can anodize the aluminum. You use an electric current and a dye to color the aluminum. I don't feel like typing how to do it so search online. Just paint it.
