normally i'd agree, but the evo doesn't have a suitable hook stock with which to pull the car forward. Whether it's outta gas, stuck in mud, anything.

I've had to use the strut tower bar on track before, i don't care for it.

Anything better would be greatly appreciated. Also: i've seen one that comes out next to the stock intercooler (only problem is if you're on the track, you probably don't have a stock intercooler

Hello,

Afer a late night break down/ tow driver could not/ would not use the stock hook to pull the car on the flat bed for fear of damage (resulted in me taking off the bumber and intercooler just to get a ride home) I decide to add this.

I have since changed the color to black to hide it. It mounts to the stock lower hook. If your pull straight out it does not hit the intecooler.

If you pull up then yes it could....(don't pull up).

Also makes a good curb fealer for parking blocks.

Would you guys be interested if I had these made?

dropspeed,

id probably be interested as long as its sturdy and fully functional. not really for track use, but situations like yours. it would definitely be nice to have something like that as i have run into a couple of flat tires and needed a tow since i dont have a spare tire. what kind of pricing and installation are we looking at?

does anyone else have any other suggestions?

you'd just need to designate it.

Most cars have a TOW sticker, near it, which isn't a bad idea. Most can also be used as a lift point. You'd just need a "TOW, NO LIFT" and it'd work decent.

I may end up taking the true route and putting a hole in my bumper, left side, as thats where you can hook through to the frame. It's a shame they put that big hook for us on the pass side, wwwwwayyyyyyy up there where you can't get to it.

I did, The still have to pull on something to get it onto the flatbed. Lowered car, large FMIC, bad angle, distaster waiting to happen.

I'm just glad the kid didn't try it.

I recieved the YR-Advance tow hook and its a very nice peice. The instructions do have a mounting point on it that is on the top of the 2nd page. Its placed really low into the bumper by the lip. I am mouting mine where the bumper support used to sit in. Since i dont have a spare bumper here yet i cant see where it would come out. But I also do have the Nagisa Auto tow hook for the strut mount pictured above and is a very nice piece. Once the FRP hood comes in i will try that one out cause i dont feel like cutting up the CF hoods at the moment haha.

Oh yeah, if you have your heart set on the YR-Advance piece, be prepared to wait. I have the only one in the country as far as i know but its well worth it.

that looks nice man!!! but it wouldnt work with an aftermarket lip

now this i think would be perfect!!! it mounts on the left vent away from the after market lip, oil and intercooler!!! id like 1 of these!!! cause with a carbon lip, there is no way that tow truck guys r gonna wanna tow it....

woops! forgot pic
