Talking Finally!!! Got my 05' Rally-Red!

Yeah so I know everyone hates pics of stock evo's but I had to post my mandatory "got my evo" thread. I been lurkin on the boards for a couple months now cuz I've been wanting to get one for awhile. I used to be on VWvortex.com and had a 2000 Jetta VR6 and traded it in. I got the sun/sound package and I LOVE IT! I know leather and sunroof adds a lil weight to the car but I don't care it's fast as it is. But anyway here's some crappy pics I took with my cell phone..

Doesn't quite capture the red too well, it looks much better in person. I wasn't crazy about getting the red because it attracts attention but this was my second choice, blue was my first choice but they were all out of electric blues apparently. But I am happy nonetheless with Red, brings out that rally look

Hope to get to know some of you better as I will need help with various questions and concerns

- David

hehe yeah that 4x4 look gets to me sometimes, lowering it will be one of my first priorities...want that tien in car adjustable coilovers but probably will settle for springs.

Don't ruin it with springs, please. If you're going to mod the suspension, at least get coilovers.

congrats and welcome to hell! as for suspension. if your going to drop it at all go with coilovers. the price difference in big but if your going to be modding a car like the evo you gotta go all out! ive been able to drive a evo with stock suspension (mine) one with tein s-techs and one with tein type flex dampers and i would go with the coilovers over the stock or just springs and i would also go with stock over just s-techs.

I hear you guys on the coilovers, it does make sense to go all out on this car. I honestly don't plan on testing this car's handling limits so I'm not sure if coilovers are the right way to go, plus I am on a tight budget...however I'm in no rush to to get my car where I want it to be...soo I may just take my time and save, we shall see how things go.

tien basic or super street are the way to go. Cheaper than all out hardcore coilovers but much better than springs.
