Removing ghost lettering?
Is there anyway to get rid of the ghost lettering left behind after removing the badges? I have washed and waxed and buffed, can't seem to get rid of it.
get some goof-off from local autoparts store. apply some on the area and rub gently w/ a soft towel. also make sure don't let the chemical sit on the paint too long.. otherwise its gonna eat up your paint
I have already used the goo-gone and removed all the goo. I debadged quite a while ago, and have washed and waxed it several times, but when I shine a light up to it you can still see the outline of the lettering where the badge was.
i think its cause under your bades the sun doesnt hit it at all so its probably a little bit richer looking paint than the rest of the car. just give it a while and it should all blend together.

u need to get 3M Adhesive and Tar Remover, works on all surfaces. Just put it on a sponge or paper towel and rub it off. takes 1min. I've used it to remove spray paint from the side of my car, completely safe.
you can find this product in Advanced auto parts.

When I wanted to remove the badges from my car, I was at the dealer getting my rear o2 sensor replaced when I asked a guy from the service department that I wanted to take the rear badges off, and I asked what the best way was to get rid of the junk left over after getting the badges off. He reached under the desk and grabbed some container with some clearish liquid in it (looks a lot like alcohol) and said to rub that on it to clean it up afterwards, and gave it to me for free. After I took off the badges with floss, i rubbed this stuff on it and it took off all the glue really easily and looked really good, couldn't even tell it had the badges on there. Any idea what this stuff is or if mitsu dealers would have it? (I got this from a subaru dealer). I should have asked what it was, but I kinda trusted the guy and didn't even bother asking what it was
Theres no name on the bottle either, just a kinda tupper-ware ish small bottle.

I agree with gonzstarr... that stuff works well. Had an older car with vinyl lettering in the rear window and the quarter panels. Stuff came right off with no residue. The vinyl had been on there for like 6 years too.
You just need that paint to fade like the rest of the car, it will soon go away. Mine's been unbadged for about a year now, but you've gotta look very very close to see the "ghost" lettering.
