Installed my front speakers

Well for the past few days Ive been trying to figure out how to install my component speakers. I was gonna put the crossover in the door but after further inspection it gets wet in there. Next spot was in the glove box but that was just way too much work. I would still be in my driveway right now.

I ended up putting it "on" the door. I back the entire crossover with weather stripper to stop the vibration. Then I just drilled it to the door. Ive installed woofers and radios but this was my first time upgrading my highs. I think I did a pretty good job.

looks clean!

I have it the same way except I moved the tweets onto the bottom of A pillars. Huge difference in sound field. Highs are much more pronounced now.

I did have to drill holes to the pillars to flush install the tweet housing but worth it.

What speakers you use? I was looking at about a grand for infinity kappa's front rears tweeters alpine deck, and infinity amp to power the speakers.

not to hijack, but...

it's all wiring and mounting. headunit rca output provides audio signal to amps. amps amplify and wires to comp. crossovers. crossovers separate highs and lows and wires them to tweets and midbass.

same for subwoofers, but use crossovers built in the woofer amps...

I wanted to put my tweets on the pilar but the bunghole that had my Evo before me had already but tweeters there and I had to cover the holes.

The speakers I got were Kenwood X1700's 6in. I got a pic of the new ones vs the old ones. I really wanted to amplify my highs but it sounds good enough as it is

I could do a write up if everone wanted me to

Yeah the install was definitly a change of pace. I think for bass I will put a bass tube or something pre-amped and space saving.

OLD SCHOOL -- If you could do a write up on the install... Step by Step that would be great... Nobody seems to be able to help explain how to do a component setup but they all say it is easy and totally not worth 85bucks to have someone install them...

Please help....

I feel like I'm a broken record... Hahahahahaha.... Thanks

Crutchfield claims to have instructions they'll ship free with an order. Might call and check. Might make the purchase from them worthwhile, dunno. Good luck!
