Well the past 2 days, I noticed some weird smell coming from the outside of the car, and also inside the car when I turn on the heat/air. I thought I had a exhaust leak until I checked under the car and I see some **** thats melted all over my tbe. I think I ran over some bag, and the bag melted onto the pipes. I tried hosing it off, but it wont budge. Anyone know what kind of cleaning solution I could use to try and clean it off?

let your car idle for a while or take it around the block a time or two...then get under it (with gloves on) and try to scrape it off with one of those spackle applying things

Great terminology … that's what I would've called it, too.

I guess it's technically a putty knife … but that's a pretty stupid name also.

A year ago I had the same exact thing happen. I ran over a bag and it melted on the top of my CAT. I couldn't figure out what the smell was, it smelled like dead fish actually. My car smelt like it and when I got into and out of the car my clothes ended up smelling like it. Finally I was able to locate the melted mass of crap on top of the cat and scrape it off (nothing special I just used whatever I could find to scrape it off...flathead scewdriver, etc). It took a couple of days for the left over residue to burn off and another week for the smell to disappear.

Good luck. I avoid all plastic bags in the road now!

Um.... same thing happend to me a few years ago in the ol' S2000... But it didn't smell as bad as you're saying it does... It actually smelled good... so it just got to burn itself off after about a month... I'm sure you could drive the car a WHOLE lot and it would burn off.... I avoid EVERYTHING on the road... too many bad things have happened from running over the smallest things...
