carbon fiber exhaust sheild
It's a pain to put on when you have to try to get everything lined up 100% and smooth to the rear of the car. i just thought it was a pain in the butt. Also the mounting tape they give you for the sides and top of the shield sucks!

Yeah I agree that it's a pain to install. I had to do it twice. Go buy yourself some good double sided trim molding tape. That $hit will hold a brick to your bumper. I ended up installing mine without the screws, just the little clips by themselves along with the tape. I thing varis or someone like that makes one as well. It probably fits a lot better.
I got the Authority carbon fiber shield. It is a very nice product I really love how it accents the rear of the car! Make sure you get Heavy duty mounting tape I got mine from discount auto parts. Trust me the best 4.99 you will spend. The origional mounting tape lasted 4 days on my car but the first rain storm we had the top of the shield almost pulled off because the tape was no longer adhesively holding to my car!

There are a few fitment issues with the Authority one. Mine is not exactly flush with the bumper which sucks. I did the best I could to make it look good. If I could buy another one, I would go with Varis.
I may have just gotten a bad batch though, coz it seems like alot of other members that have the authority one like it and it fits well.

There are some fitment issues on the bottom left and right. Right where the exhaust pipe comes out there is a little gap but it looks pretty damn good. With the mounting tape they give you it will not stay anywhere close to where you origionally installed it due to climate change and vibrations from your exhaust. Make sure you get that heavy duty tape on there. I also kept spreaking my hand out accross the whole shield to try and keep everything pressed down and it came out looking really good.
Hope you guys like this, our latest development for the Evolution... Dry Carbon Fiber Exhaust Heat Sheild

We've added a small lip around the heat sheild to help protect the bumper as well as give a meaner look.
Because ours is made of dry carbon fiber, you will not experience any warping problems wet lay versions have. The Carbign Craft heat sheild is about 1mm thick so it fits like a glove. Included with our heat sheild will be: 3M double sided tape, 5 rivets (rabbit pins) and 2 security allen bolts. Estimated availability will be at the end of May 2005. Please let us know if you have any questions about this product... questions@carbigncraft.com

That looks awesome i'm definetely interested and i'm sure many other people are as well. Do you have an estimate on price? And also are rivets really needed or does double tape and those allens do the job? Looks much better than the Authority exhaust shield
