HID upgrade on non HID '05 headlights?

HID upgrade on non HID '05 headlights?

i have the ballasts, i purchased them from a fellow evo owner, but i was wondering if i could wire it up to my stock housing and just get bulbs or do i need to purchase the HID housing?

i would assume you ust need ballasts and bulbs, and you would have to fit it in the headlight.

Buy some rebased (to 9006) HID bulbs. You'll also need some wiring. A typical fog light install kit would work (can be bought at Pep Boys, etc), or you can buy a wiring kit specifically for HID upgrades that some vendors sell. That should be all you need.

Separate igniters are only used on some brand of HID kits. I would imagine the other mfgr's use a self contained one (within the ballast housing).

Do you know what car the ballasts originally came off of? Or did they come off another evo? That would probably answer your question.

Or,

There should be wires and connectors coming out of the ballast. if one of the connectors is round and set up to go on the back of a D2S/D2R bulb then all you'll probably need are the bulbs and you're off to the races. If you are unsure, take some pictures of the wires and the connectors and post it up on here.
